The plaid pattern is subtle enough that it doesn't clash with his coat, which I appreciate. The adjustable strap was easy to size down for my smaller dog and it hasn't loosened up after a few weeks of daily walks.
The metal buckle feels sturdier than the plastic ones I've had before, and it clips on in seconds. My dog's worn it on daily walks for a month with zero rubbing, plus the plaid still looks sharp.
