Took this on a muddy hike and the collar wiped clean with one rinse, no lingering smell. The smooth finish doesn't rub against my dog's neck either, even after a full day of wear.
The metal buckle feels way sturdier than the plastic ones that kept snapping on my last collar, and it doesn't jangle when my dog shakes. Mud from the trail wipes right off the smooth finish with a damp cloth.
